Service Description

Balboa is a partner dance that originated in Southern California during the 1920s and gained huge popularity during the 1930s and 1940s. It is primarily danced to up-tempo swing music and has variations that can be danced to slower tempo swing music. Prior experience with the basic footwork is preferred (hint: you can learn this in Intro to Balboa). No partner needed. Students must attend the first class of the month. This open-level course will have traditional rotation (dancers stay in the same role for the duration of the class). Non-stick shoes are recommended for this dance - consider bringing more than one pair to test the floor.
